However, the third-year clinical rotations and fourth-year studies vary significantly based on the chosen medical healthcare philosophy. Below are the different types of medical schools, each contributing to approximately 4,000 hours of medical education:
Allopathic Medical School
• MD: Allopathic medicine, while widely practiced, is associated with a considerable number of medical errors. Estimates suggest that between 250,000 and 440,000 deaths annually in the United States can be attributed to such errors, making them the third leading cause of death after heart disease and cancer. Accurately determining the impact of medical errors is complicated, as death certificates often do not reflect these errors as the cause of death. Furthermore, MDs are frequently cited as a leading cause of family bankruptcies due to medical bills and are the primary prescribers of opioids, contributing to a significant addiction crisis affecting approximately 2.1 million individuals.
